Smash TV (Holger Zilske and Michael Schmidt) began their career recording under the alias Mindlab. Later on they switched on to Berlin’ s Bpitch Control and Michael Schmidt left. Regardless of that Holger Zilske continues to produce good quality techno music, which is enjoyed all over the world, and especially Berlin – modern party capital.

While Smash TV were visiting Riga (Latvia), giving a real TV-smashing performance in the funky popular club Space:Garage, Nuacco.com had a small chat with Holger Zilske, which can be interesting for those who are fans, or would like to become such.

Of course, the most interesting question was about Holger’ s attitude towards digital content and also the prospect of CDs and Vinyls in the digital world. The artist commented:

You know, it has a good and a bad side.. I m happy that all the people around the world have access to electronic music through the internet, like this good music gets more known. You are for example independent from distributers in other countries, everybody can search in the net and find “his” music. So as an artist can be known all around the world, which means that you can play all around the world. The negative thing is – i love vinyl records – for me it s kind of lifestyle, but the easy and free access to music destroys the vinyl market, or it is about to destroy it. For good music in the future it is necessary that the labels survive or there will be no new music at all. I just hope that people and especially djs realise that they support a good thing with buying records or at least paying for the mp3s.

As to prove this, turned out that Holger’ s music was used in a German commercial, and he did not even know about it.

The artist also revealed of how the name for his popular piece “Yellow Asteroids” was made. Holger has a vision of his music, when he makes it, and yellow asteroids just fit in the mood. Holger seems to be really fond of music, and owns more than a thousand vinyls himself.

Musician’ s biggest influences in music have been Depeche Mode, KLF, Altern 8, he is also very fond of “talkboxes”.

This time Creamfields was held in a Polish city Wroclaw, a very nice town with around 800 000 inhabitants.

Everything is really cheap there, compared with prices in more developed European cities. But so nice! Food more delicious and people smile more too.

Wroclaw is around 1000 years old, which left a certain imprint on its culture and architecture, which amazes.

The festival was held in the outskirts of the city and featured such famous names as The Prodigy, Vitalic, Above & Beyond, Axwell, Dieselboy, Jeff Mills, DJ Hype, Steve Angello, Chris Liebing, Ronski Speed,Flash Brothers, Christopher Lawrence, Hardy Hard, Eddie Halliwell, David Crystal, Armin Van Buurenn and others.

A separate area was arranged for beer drinking and bungee jumping, which helped people to remain sober too, as only beer was sold (Very tasty beer nevertheless).

Apart from being a bit chilly, the party was great throughout the night.
