Shipping Puma in containers

Portable architecture is reality now. The new Puma store, called “Puma-City” was made of 24 shipping containers. This store has 3 floors, and its construction allows it to be easily put down and put up somewhere else with little effort. The 11,000 sf retail installation was designed by LOT-EK.

Public Health Department in Bilbao

This unusual building will soon appear in Bilbao, Spain. This is no other than Public Health Departmen, the with mirror facade of which was projected by architects Juan Coll-Barreu and Daniel Gutierrez Zarza from Coll-Barreu Arquitectos.

It seems that lately architectural trends aim to stun the potential viewer – buildings get taller and more intricate.Dubai will host yet another architecture wonder – 4 towers with a different number of floors, which resembles burning flames. The project will be designed by Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates.

Rem Koolhaas and Jacques Herzog unveil their latest projects, 23 East 22nd St and 57 Leonard St respectively, to pack NYC with even more sky-scrapers.

Factoreef – new era boat factory

Three students from Vienna University of Applied Arts developed a concept of a boat building factory in Croatia. The project was named Factoreef. Its authors, Julcsi Futo, Bika Rebek and Stefan Ritter are students in the mentioned above University.

Amazing home uno

Apartments Farrer Road will be built in Singapore by a project of famous architect Zaha Hadid. The building will be composed of 7 towers 150 meters high and will take around 220 000 square meters. Pretty impressive.

Amazing home due

Being homeless is huge social problem in the US, and for that reason designers Barry Sheehan and Gregor Timlin have produced this Shelter Cart. The simplicity and genius of this project is pretty clear – it is both a cart and a bed. At day time it can be carried around and all precious trash can be stored in the Shelter Cart. At night one can sleep inside it. And it is made of eco materials!

Goldsmiths college graduate exhibition takes place in Boiler House (Brick Lane, London). Young artists present their graduation works, and it seems that the flight of fantasy for art gets more exquisite with years. Unusual concepts and skillful installations is what the modern art student strive for, so take a look.

Narinder Pabila presents sofas and cushions, as well as everyday objects in all sizes covered with soft material. Pabila describes her idea: “I was looking at how people comfort themselves, for example, when anxious or depressed, and how comfort is gained through various different objects.

The overall concept is for creating a relationship between the individual and the object that adapts into modern daily living.”

Tom Pande has most unusual installations – recycled books, processed “Hooj” label records and much more.

Rebecca Gair’ s pin cushions are amazing! This is truly the evolution of everyday objects and so easy to make too.
