Annie Leibovitz did it again

Vanity Fair has a good old tradition of publishing shots of the most famous celebrities. This time it is year 2008, and this time, as many previous times, it is Annie Leibovitz who made the pictures. She is simply amazing! Oh and the topic, if not self-explanatory – actors and directors. Enjoy!

You spelled Gus Van Sant’s name wrong.

Great pictures. This may sound a bit weird, but you should have more care with people’s names. It honestly turned me off after seeing so many names being so badly misspelled. Surely you can do better.

  4. Great pictures, can I ask which magazine all this appeared in ?

  5. As always great pics and subject matter by Annie Lebowitz. I would love the chance to photograph
some of these people, not because they are famous but they are such interesting and photographic subjects
The pic of Clint Eastwood is great, he would need so little directing to set up a great shot

  6. yeah good crap-

blaureiter – Vanity Fair is the one

  9. YOU CAN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN CLINT EASTWOOD. GRAN TORINO WAS AN EXCELLENT MOVIE. HE PLAYED THE ROLE PERFECTLY. MY KINDA OF MAN..

  10. She is Awesome! Nothing much more to say.

  11. these photos are a revelation. they are spell binding as it draws you to look into the people not just at the people – well done :)

  12. Gonna go ahead and echo everyone who said that you need to spell people’s names correctly. Buz Lurman? Woody Allan? Penelopa Cruz?! Really?

  13. Normally, I would say to hell with spelling, and who cares about that, it’s not the point of the article. In this case, because it is the name’s that are misspelled, I think it is a good idea to correct it. It is more respectful towards these artists.

  14. Nice pics. Always interesting to see actors on set.

  15. much better than her shoot for Lavazza catalog. perhaps she hated Lavazza coffee too much.

Learn to f*ckin’ spell you moron, christ! a child could have copy content better…

  17. How come Sam Mendes is wearing a coat on one arm and not the other?

  18. These are some of my favorite movies and stars. Love slumdog. Gotta get these in poster size for my room

  19. Annie Lebovitz isn’t even a good photographer. She weasled her way into the position she now occupies and uses the sparkle of celebrities to distract her audiences from her lackluster skills.

  20. Looks like some bad photochopping on sam nedes coat on the left not on the right???

  21. Aside from some of the more obvious photoshop (one sleeve jacket, etc.) I’m fairly sure that Clint Eastwood’s head (and hand) have been shopped onto someone else’s body. At the very least, he has been shopped into that truck…

  22. Gorgeous.

  23. That is a terrifc collection of photos! I have seen most of those films; 2008 has been a very special year for movies and these photos capture a part of that magic. Thank you for sharing!!!

I am sorry once again, guys, for misspelling. Corrected what I have noticed. Please tell me if I missed more.

  25. Hey, thanks for putting these all up together like this. I’m going to use a portion of the Mickey Rourke Photo for a celeb blog post I want to do about his physique (spelling?). The one that made me laugh is Clint Eastwood, for the double double. I find him STILL attractive at his age – in that particular pose :) . Thanks! :)

  26. PS, don’t worry about your spelling error, I am not sure I got my post spelled right either. ??

  27. Why is everyone freaking out about Sam? It’s just a blankie!

  28. Its nice to see they propped up heath ledgers body for the shoot
