Celebrities in a couple of lines
These amazing pictures were made by Pablo Lobato - the famous Argentinian artist. He sees celebrities in a special way, being able to pass resemblance in caricatures by drawing just a few lines - see for yourself:
^ Jack Nicholson

^ Beatles

^ Bjork

^ Elton John

^ Madonna

^ Brad Pitt

^ Julia Roberts

^ Red Hot Chili Peppers

^ Paris Hilton, Snoop Dog, Paul McCartney
Other pictures by Lobato (totally worth checking!)
Illustrator Noma Bar is very much like Lobato, only Noma Bar uses even less lines for his drawings, and still the nature of the subject is perfectly caught.

^ Putin

^ Tony Soprano

^ Margaret Thatcher

^ Bob Dylan and Kim Jong-il
All of these pictures have in the book “Guess Who? The Faces of Noma Bar” which was due in November. The book will appeal to graphic designers and pop-culture fans alike.

Why post the names before the picture? That completely ruins everything.

double the fun on this site and leave the names above the pictures…

Excellent! There’s a UK artist called Gary Smith (he signs “Gary”) who takes a similar approach to caricature. Getting an instantly recognisable likeness without even drawing the features is an enviable talent. The only ones I didn’t recognise immediately were the ones I didn’t know anyway.

These are really, really good. I wish I didn’t see the names before the pictures though!

Amazing work! I acgree w/Richard though - put the name AFTER the picture. I had to try hard to not see the name and guess who it was depicted (and I got them all right!) but for the sake of suspense, put it after the image! Your artwork deserves it. Keep up the great work.

I cant believe how good this is!
Although being incredibly abstact, the name of the person depicted immedialtely pops to your mind. I think the the artist is tapping some of the very mechanisms how the brain recognizes faces. Maybe he is not even aware of this, but either way he’s a genius.

Excellent depictions! Thanks for sharing these.

Very good artistry! As the subjects are very familiar with us all, we may declare that this pablo is BETTER than the other. But we didn’t see the “model” or have a title that explained who or perhaps what we were looking at. This fellow MUST be enormously RICH as his talent is ENORMOUS! I didn’t “get” the McCartney but Pablo HITS a lot more than he “misses”…if he did, in fact, “miss”. Art really is in the eye of the beholder even though everything I’ve see is very GOOD! Whatever was Rembrant trying to say with “Nightwatch” except we may wonder HOW the group could “nightwatch” the border, the palace or whatever..while seated around a table!

Very artistic! Very nice!

To Ernesto, you know, i actually don’t think Pablo is rich at all, artists in Argentina don’t get well paid for their work (few exceptions). If he lives somewhere else, there is a slight posibility that he can make a living out of his art. I really hope he does, because i love his paintings.
Thanks for sharing this great guy!

I tend to be rather an art snob as far as graphics are concerned. I gotta tell ya, I ate my hat. This is great stuff!
